Who We Serve

Individuals

We know unequivocally that each client is unique and every constellation of symptoms needs to be seen with new eyes. Our clinicians have a diverse and abundant scope of knowledge and offer it to each client in an open and collaborative way. We endeavor to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to a more fulfilling and complete life.

Couples

We believe the couple works best together when each partner is granted the greatest freedom to be themselves and let go of the desire and deeds of control. When there is already a break, which often is what brings the couple to counseling, we help each partner accept and move beyond past pain, clarify, strengthen and adhere to expressed boundaries, and rebuild the promises of trust.

Families

Experience tells us that weak, or even absent boundaries are at the core of family disharmony. Boundaries are the guiding lines which help us remain true to ourselves and also know our obligations to each other. Lacking expressed boundaries, day to day living becomes stressed and confused. Insights’ clinicians work with families to establish boundaries along a collective path to healing, function and harmony.

Children and Parenting

Every child is a unique being who experiences the stages of growth and development at their own pace, in their own manner, within the influence of their environment, nurturing relationships, experiences, and genetic factors. When counseling is needed, we begin by creating a safe place for healing. We use play, a child’s intuitive way of learning and living, and we guide parents in establishing consistency and boundaries.

Adolescents

Somewhere between birth and the teenage years, boundaries become confused and entitlement reigns. The adolescent brain is going through a change that is miraculous, but often feels like chaos. We help parents and their teens understand and utilize the science to improve communication and empower a positive expectancy that fosters a teen’s capacity to make healthy and helpful choices.

Young Adults (18 to 33)

Challenges are to be expected when we progress from one stage of life, to the next, whether anticipated, or due to unforeseen events. Such times often prompt us to retrace where we have been and assess our readiness for the future. The path can be overwhelming, leading us to question ourselves, our values, and what we have always believed. Our clinicians have an expanse of knowledge and experience in counseling young adults, who struggle with one of the most exciting and daunting times in life.

Older Adults

Aging is a natural process. Emotional pain and suffering, anxiety, loneliness, grief and loss are not; they are by-products. Counseling during this time can help older adults cope, and even thrive. Proper therapeutic assessment can help determine the best ways to address the changes and symptoms often caused by a decline in sensorimotor function, mood, and neurocognition, such as dementia. Therapy for older adults is valuable and effective when held in the context of a life transition, not the onset of disease.

What to Expect

We make sure all our new clients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, a mental health professional will review your current situation and previous medical history. For diagnosis, they will spend the first session getting to know you and discussing how our practice works. From there, the mental health professional will collaborate specific options for treatment. We typically proceed with follow-up sessions at a time that is most convenient for you.

Cancellation Policy: To avoid a $50 fee, notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule.
