Our Services

All services are only conducted via telehealth (video/phone sessions)

Depression and mood disorders

Somewhere, between fairy-tales and last night's news, we discovered that life can be down-right hard, frightening, unfair, and depressing. Many of us lose hope, and like a storm that rolls in, we fall into darkness. The darkness may be situational, or it may be everywhere we look. Meeting with a therapist can help you re-discover your inner light and guide you back to hope

Anxiety

Anxiety: feelings of uneasiness, imposing thoughts that hijack your ability to focus, sweaty palms that make a soon-to-be handshake overwhelming. You may sense what feels like a continuous Spring run-off; or like a crashing wave that pushes you underwater. Our clinicians are experts who will help you understand and manage the anxiety, while living the life you desire.

Bipolar

While medication management is important for bipolar, it also becomes important to be able to assess varying moods, potential red flags, and have a more readily accessible resource for day to day maintenance and support. Coping mechanisms can be developed to lessen varying moods, making life more comfortable.

PTSD/Trauma

Insights Counseling preserves a trauma-informed approach to therapy with a variety of specialization and post-graduate education. Trauma is a physiological and psychological— body/brain reaction to one or more acute or chronic life events such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, violent assault or domestic violence, combat, accidents, death of a loved one, cancer, even divorce. No matter the causal event(s), you may suffer from flashbacks, intrusive memories, feelings of shame and low self-worth, and hyperarousal of your senses, leading to an often-imagined fight, flight or freeze response. Healing from trauma requires a trusting therapeutic relationship, thought and sensory-based interventions, self-regulation skills, reframing how we think, integrating and desensitizing past painful experiences and creating opportunities for post-traumatic growth and resilience— moving forward.

Substance Abuse/Addiction

Often seen in conjunction with a co-morbid mental health condition, substance use, and process addictions such as gaming, gambling, and sex, are behaviors people use to self-sooth, numb and avoid emotional and psychological pain. We support our clients in (1) recognizing and healing the issues causing the pain, (2) adopting skills to ease urges and allay triggers, and (3) finding the personal resolution and accountability to recover their true selves.

Anger and Impulse Control

Anger and impulse control often go hand-in-hand, pointing to diagnoses such as oppositional defiant disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, and conduct disorder. However, these behaviors also may mask conditions such as Bipolar, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, and even anxiety. Distinguishing between the camouflage, and the actual condition is essential for effective treatment planning.

Personality Disorder

Personality disorders such as the ill-famed borderline have a long-standing reputation for being untreatable. However, a client is not a personality disorder. A client is the agent of his or her personal change. Framed by an accepting and emboldening therapeutic alliance, there is hope for clients to make the behavioral and character changes necessary for mental wellness and healthy relationships

Intimacy Issues

Intimacy begins outside of the bedroom and is akin to values such as emotion, intellect, spiritual, sexual, and physical. Problems with intimacy stem from many factors such as: painful past experiences, attachment issues, daily life stress, communication concerns— and an unending list of reasons. Our goal is to model and encourage communication, to aid healing, and to champion boundaries, so that partners can rebuild trust and renew their intimate connections.

Career Counseling

Work is an integral part of the metaphorical tapestry of life. Still, when a thread is weak, the entire piece may unravel. As much as mental health issues can interfere with employment, a well-performed job that adds meaning to one’s life can also change one’s outlook on life. We help you find that balance.

Coaching

Life Coaching has become a household term. However, coaching individuals with mental health issues such as social anxiety, ADHA, or adjustment stalemates is anything but ordinary. We’ll find the perfect blend of help , direction and empowerment so you can identify and achieve your goals.

Psychometric Testing

Insights Counseling can provide a range of Psychometric assessments on-site to clarify diagnosis and treatment planning. Testing instruments address a variety of concerns including: developmental, educational, intelligence, personality, and competency to proceed. Talk with your counselor for more information.
