Dennis is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has counseled individuals, couples, and families since 1994. He completed an undergraduate degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and earned a Master of clinical social work from the University of Kansas. “My approach is ‘Person-centered.’ To individuals: I believe the answers to your dilemmas are inside you. My job is to help you unlock those answers by connecting with the intuition you had when you first experienced life. To couples: I have learned that the couple works best together when each is allowed the greatest freedom to be themselves; and for families: I help all members of the family believe in themselves and in each other.” Dennis’s esteemed 26-year career includes counseling in a variety of community-based, public and private practice settings, as well as specialized treatment programs for at-risk youth, sex offenders, incarcerated persons, people with addiction, and those court-mandated for therapy. Dennis earned his certification as a forensic mental health evaluator (CFMHE) in 2014 with specialties in child custody evaluations, substance abuse, and domestic violence.

Julia Tucker, ACMHC

Headshot

Julia currently attends the University of Phoenix and is a top student in their Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program. While counseling at the University of Phoenix Counseling Clinic, Julia counseled individuals, children, and adolescents experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar, dissociation, ADHD, etc. Currently, Julia specializes in young children and adolescent populations utilizing integrated modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and play therapy. In the child population, Julia utilizes evidenced-based play therapy such as sand-tray therapy to connect with children in a way that facilitates growth and healing through play. This method allows for the integration of both right and left sides of the brain which promotes the formation of neurons by escaping therapeutic blocks through the mechanism of play. In teenage and adolescent populations, Julia utilizes CBT and DBT principles to increase awareness, promote accountability, and introduce mindfulness of others’ perspectives. Julia is collaborative with parents and includes them in facilitating the counseling process at home.

In Loving Memory

Julie was a board certified, licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC, NCC). She began her career in the mental health profession in 1994, focused on business and program development, administration, marketing, and management. She completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at Brigham Young University and in 2004 earned a Master of clinical mental health counseling from the University of Phoenix. “My awareness as a therapist encompasses the whole life of an individual, meaning that you need to heal from your past, accept the truths of today, and have a hopeful outlook on the future to achieve full mental health and wellness.” Julie was invested in the healing process of her clients and honed her expertise in treating those with conditions such as anxiety, bipolar, complex post-traumatic stress, childhood sexual abuse, and personality disorder. Her work with couples was comprehensive, addressing boundaries, and re-building trust and intimacy. Julie was a great leader, serving since 2018 as the president of the Utah Mental Health Counselors Association (UMHCA), an affiliate of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) up until 2020. She was a certified forensic mental health evaluator (CFMHE) with specialties in child custody evaluation, psychometric testing, substance abuse, domestic violence and malingering.

Julie battled cancer for four long years and passed away in February of 2023. We love and want to honor Julie as the founder of our company by leaving a memorial for her on our website. She was the strongest most caring person that we knew. She loved and cared for her clients with all of her being. We strive to emulate her values as we move forward with our company without her.
